Welcome to Kompyuta ne Yuganda

This is the home page of the Translation Project Luganda team. The name "imaginatively" translates as 'The Computer and Uganda'.

Uganda has quite a few native languages, in two main linguistic groups, bantu and nilotic. Luganda is one of the country's major languages, and has much in common with the other bantu languages there.

The Translation Project is an international voluntary organisation whose aim is to coordinate software developers, people who can translate and computer users (running Linux, GNU and other *NIXen) in an effort to enable computers to "speak" in as many of the world's languages as possible.
